Membership
Criteria
Any
woman who is working in the film and television industry and has a minimum
of two years experience in this industry is eligible to apply for membership.
Those
who are deemed to be ineligible to apply for full membership may apply
to be a 'Friend' of the Society. Friends are entitled to attend Women
in Film and Television (Wgtn) incorporated activities (unless for whatever
reason the activity is restricted to full members only) although possibly
at a reduced subsidised rate to full members. A friend shall be entitled
to be present but not to vote at General Meetings of the Society.
There
is also a 'Student' membership, for current students at the time of applying
for membership (a copy of your student ID should be attached to your membership
application). Students have the same rights as Friends.
Every
application for membership shall be accompanied by the prescribed annual
subscription and made in writing in the prescribed form to the Membership
Secretary of the Society.
Membership
shall be upon an annual basis and a member shall cease to be a member
of the Society if her subscription is unpaid within three months after
the end of the financial year.
The
annual subscription shall be determined from time to time at the Annual
General Meeting of the Society.
Each
member shall undertake to act in accordance with the Rules and Policy
of the Society.
A
member who fails to comply with the Society rules or policy may incur
a period of suspension by a majority vote of the management Committee,
such suspension being subject to appeal to a General Meeting of the Society.
