WIFT is an organisation, which supports women in
the film and television industries, and provides an informal network for helping
each other in our careers. WIFT is part of WIFT International. We have a strong
local focus, which represents all corners of the industry. Although we promote
women's interests, men are welcome to belong as Friends of WIFT.

WIFT Wellington is proud to
announce Philippa
Boyens as our Patron!
Philippa Boyens made her debut as a
screenwriter with the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Along with Peter
Jackson and Fran Walsh she has won many prestigious awards including an OSCAR
and a BAFTA for best-adapted screenplay in “Lord of the Rings, Return
of the King.”
Prior to her work in
film she was Director of the New Zealand Writers Guild.
She has also worked
in theatre as a drama teacher, a playwright, a producer and an editor.
Philippa
has worked as one of the principal screenwriters
& co-producer on the “King Kong” project. This is another collaboration
with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh.
